The RENDERS
the process…
At first, it was vital to find the fitting 3D models in order to bring my vision to life. This resulted in searching through various websites on the hunt for the perfect models. I was lucky enough, to find a bunch of similarly designed models such as the broken down houses, the rusting cars as well as the bloody chair.
STEP ONE
Followingly, I had to choose vegetation that I did not only like visually but also made sense for the environment and setting. In addition to that it was also important for me to choose realistic greens, for example, ivy, which can be seen growing on the side of the houses and is usually rather aggressive in its way of growth. After choosing, I began “painting” the environment with them.
STEP TWO
After finishing the environment design, the last big step was the rendering. As I did not have any prior experience regarding rendering, I was very keen on following the steps correctly. Furthermore, the selection of the frames to be rendered was fun too, as I was able to freely choose which story of the created environment I wanted to tell. Consequently, every frame rendered tells a different story.
STEP THREE
final thoughts
I absolutely enjoyed creating this project, and I feel like I hit the nail on the head regarding the inspo pictures. The process, though sometimes a little bit draining as I had never worked with natural environments in Maya before, was extremely rewarding in the end, as the final renders finished, and I had a number of picture I could be proud of.
